STARS FOR OUR TROOPS

The Stars For Our Troops project takes your worn, used American Flags and turns them into a prized possession for our Armed Forces & Veterans.
This project is a wonderful opportunity to bring your community together to share in the making of these packets for our Troops and Veterans.

"I am part of our American flag that has flown over a home in the U.S.A.  I can no longer fly.  The sun and wind have caused me to become tattered and torn.  Please carry me as a reminder that You are not forgotten."

Your worn American flag is now able to touch the lives of Troops & Veterans even after it has reached the end of its flying days.

To volunteer email: esther@msawi.org

Frequently Asked Question: Is it correct to cut the flag? Don’t we consider it a “living” flag?

We use old flags that would be retired and burned. Flag Etiquette experts advise us that one may respectfully in this way cut the flag. We are doing a transplant of the love and respect that the flag represents. We are giving our Troops and Veterans special recognition for what they are doing or have done for our country.

The Success of this Project...

MSAWI & Family,
First and foremost I want offer my condolences for the loss of your son. I recently received a care package from the
Forgottesoldiers.org and I was taken back when I saw the STAR from the United States Flag. I wanted to thank you for all that you have done and all that you continue to do in Supporting the United States Armed Forces.

Our Troops--Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines & Coast Guard  that have lost their lives will always be remembered.
Once again thank you!

Thank you MSAWI!!!  I just gave a bag of stars to a Vietnam Vet who is bound to a wheelchair. He ministers at the prison and he visits with lots of Veterans who have lost their way...BIG TIME!  But...the ones he mentors seem to have a good side and he gave his STAR to one of the men. I gave him several Star Packets to have on hand if he meets others that he feels could use the "‘reminder that they will never be forgotten.”  Hopefully it will help them turn their lives around.
